Project Manager

Location: London
Sector: Data Centres / Infrastructure
Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 + Package

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist contractor delivering a major data centre development involving a substantial package of enabling, civil engineering and infrastructure works.

You'll be responsible for the delivery of a complex package supporting the construction of multiple data halls and associated facilities. The scope includes below-ground infrastructure, attenuation ponds, drainage networks, underground utility corridors, HV and MV power infrastructure, data and security ducting, foundations, reinforced concrete slabs and wider external works.
This is an excellent opportunity if your experience sits at the intersection of construction and civil engineering. You'll be taking ownership of a technically challenging package where programme, commercial performance, design coordination and stakeholder management are all critical to successful delivery.

You'll also be joining a contractor with more than 40 years of specialist industry experience and a growing portfolio across the data centre, defence and energy sectors.

Role Overview

As Project Manager, you'll take overall responsibility for the safe, profitable and timely delivery of your project, leading the team from design and pre-construction activities through to construction, completion and handover.

You'll establish clear project controls from the outset, ensuring the team understands programme requirements, commercial objectives and individual responsibilities. Working closely with the commercial team, you'll monitor budgets, forecasts, cash flow and project performance while identifying risks and opportunities that could affect the final outcome.
A significant part of your role will revolve around programme management. You'll coordinate procurement, resources and subcontractors to ensure key milestones are achieved, identifying potential constraints early and implementing recovery measures where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll also be heavily involved in the technical delivery of the infrastructure package. You'll coordinate consultants, utility providers, client teams and specialist subcontractors while ensuring design development and statutory approvals remain aligned with the construction programme.
Quality will be equally important. You'll ensure appropriate inspections and assurance processes are followed, regularly reviewing works on site and making sure any non-conformances are properly identified, recorded and resolved. The objective will always be to achieve a right-first-time approach and ultimately deliver a defect-free project at handover.

Throughout delivery, you'll become a key point of contact for the client and wider stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring communication remains clear, professional and proactive.

About You

You are an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex construction or infrastructure projects and are comfortable taking overall responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality and project teams.
Your technical background will be particularly important for this position. You'll have a strong understanding of earthworks and cut-and-fill operations, piling and foundations, drainage and attenuation systems, utility diversions and installations, roads, infrastructure and external works.
You'll understand how these packages interact with the wider construction programme and be confident coordinating multidisciplinary teams, specialist subcontractors, consultants and utility providers.

You'll also bring a good commercial understanding to the role. You'll be comfortable working with budgets and forecasts, managing change and risk and working alongside Quantity Surveyors to protect project profitability.

You'll have experience working with NEC and/or JCT contracts and understand design and build delivery. You'll be confident managing client relationships and capable of providing the leadership needed to keep a complex project moving forward.
Ideally, you'll hold an HNC, Degree or equivalent construction-related qualification alongside a minimum Black CSCS Card, SMSTS and RAMS training. Membership of CIOB, RICS, APM or another relevant professional body would be advantageous, as would an APM, PMP or equivalent project management qualification.

Company Profile

You'll be joining an established specialist design, engineering and construction contractor with more than 40 years of industry experience.
The business operates across the data centre, defence and energy sectors, delivering technically challenging projects where traditional building construction often intersects with complex engineering and infrastructure.

With continued growth across its mission-critical portfolio, this is an opportunity to join a business delivering increasingly large and technically demanding projects while still offering its senior project teams genuine responsibility and influence over how those projects are delivered.
