Capital Projects Manager
Salary: £40,778 - £43,903 pro rata
Location: York, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cambridge, Swindon, Bristol or Portsmouth
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Contract: Fixed term until March 2028
Hours: Full-time
Overview
Our client is looking for a Capital Projects Manager to manage the delivery of capital, repair and refurbishment projects across a national property estate.
You will oversee multiple concurrent construction projects, working with external consultants and contractors alongside architects, surveyors, facilities managers and technical specialists. The role covers project planning and delivery, budgets, procurement, construction contracts and risk management.
You will also support the close-out of outstanding patent and latent defects on a major restoration project in Shrewsbury. Regular travel to Shrewsbury is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage capital, repair and refurbishment projects across an estate of existing buildings.
- Plan, deliver and close multiple concurrent construction projects and programmes.
- Coordinate external consultants and contractors.
- Work collaboratively with architects, surveyors, facilities managers and technical specialists.
- Manage projects involving building fabric repairs, refurbishments, building services and fit-outs.
- Oversee project budgets, procurement and construction contracts.
- Manage project and contractual risks.
- Manage and close out residual patent and latent defects on a recently completed restoration project.

Requirements
- Experience in construction project management within public estates or portfolios of existing buildings.
- A qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture or another relevant construction discipline.
- Demonstrable experience planning, delivering and closing multiple concurrent projects and/or programmes.
- Experience delivering construction projects involving building fabric repairs, refurbishments, building services and fit-outs in existing buildings.
- Proven experience managing budgets, procurement and/or construction contracts, including risk management.
- Willingness to travel regularly to Shrewsbury.
