FOI Project Manager – Band 7

Location: Croydon
Department: Digital Services / Corporate Services
Paye Rate: £26.16 per hour PAYE, holiday pay inclusive
Duration: 3 months
Start Date: Immediate
Hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday 37.5 hours

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced FOI Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major Freedom of Information (FOI) remediation and improvement programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex projects and workstreams from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. The role will involve working closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, governance groups, suppliers and other internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex FOI remediation and improvement projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, delivery schedules, dependencies and critical paths.
  • Manage project risks, issues, quality and change control, ensuring appropriate actions are identified and escalated where required.
  • Develop and support business cases, business requirements and process mapping activities.
  • Manage project resources, budgets and associated procurement and supplier requirements.
  • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams to deliver agreed objectives.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders, project boards, suppliers and external partners.
  • Produce project reports, progress updates and management information for senior management and governance groups.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented.
  • Support the successful transition of project outcomes into business-as-usual operations.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant governance, policies, procedures and project management methodologies.
  • Monitor project performance and take appropriate action where projects are at risk of delay or not meeting agreed objectives.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience managing medium to large-scale complex projects.
  • Experience working within a complex public sector, healthcare or NHS environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, with PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience of managing project risks, issues, dependencies and change.
  • Experience managing budgets, resources and suppliers.
  • Experience developing business cases and project delivery plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior managers and project boards.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary or cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Understanding of Information Governance requirements within a healthcare or public sector environment.

Desirable

  • Relevant project management qualification.
  • Experience working specifically within Information Governance or FOI.
  • Agile project management experience.
  • Relevant business analysis, informatics or management qualification.
  • Membership of a recognised project management professional body such as APM.
