MadiganGill are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a college in Cinderford, GL14, helping to teach and mentor construction apprentices.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who wants to move away from full-time project work and pass their knowledge, skills and experience on to the next generation.
You do not need a teaching qualification to apply. We will support you through the relevant qualification to teach in Further Education, and we will arrange the required DBS checks.
The Role
- Teaching and mentoring construction and project management apprentices
- Delivering classroom-based and practical construction project management training
- Sharing your knowledge and experience from managing construction projects
- Delivering a structured scheme of work
- Teaching apprentices how classroom theory applies to real construction projects
- Supporting practical training and development
- Teaching project planning, coordination and management
- Helping apprentices understand construction programmes, budgets and project requirements
- Teaching health & safety, quality control and risk management
- Developing apprentices' understanding of managing contractors, subcontractors and site teams
- Supporting apprentices with project documentation, reporting and communication
- Helping apprentices understand how projects are planned, managed and delivered from start to finish

What We're Looking For
- Strong Project Management background and genuine construction industry experience
- Good knowledge of construction project management and delivery
- Experience managing construction projects, contractors and subcontractors
- Understanding of programmes, budgets, quality, health & safety and project documentation
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Someone who can confidently pass their knowledge and experience on to young people
- Patient, approachable and confident personality
- Ability to deliver a structured scheme of work
- Previous teaching, training, mentoring or supervisory experience would be an advantage
- Teaching qualification desirable but not essential

Construction Project Management experience is more important than teaching experience. We are looking for someone with the practical knowledge and personality to teach apprentices what managing real construction projects is actually like.
Job Details
- Location: Cinderford, GL14
- Rate: Negotiable depending on experience
- Hours: Negotiable
- Days: Negotiable
- Contract: Permanent or contract considered - permanent preferred
- Term Time: Option to work term-time only or work throughout the year
- Start: ASAP
Full support will be provided to gain the relevant Further Education teaching qualification.
