The Role
The Project Manager is accountable and responsible for the management and motivation of multi-disciplined operational teams and subcontractors. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the delivery team is effective in works planning, that the site is ready for construction, and the materials and plant have been ordered on time. This will include the management of customer relations, programmes of work, staff and contractors ensuring that networks are built safely, to the correct specification, and to the Groups, asset owners, and Client satisfaction in a cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Complete initial and ongoing site meetings and liaison with the Client regarding safety, technical standards, and create working programs with a critical path and high-level sales FC
- Initial meetings require the relevant operational / SHEQ documentation to be completed and returned within a timely manner.
- Issue and explain M&A Doocey requirements and technical standards as and when required, to the client and customers.
- Produce and manage and maintain a programme of works for each project on Major Project work.
- Brief Clients on the required specification and installation methods, and material storage requirements for works undertaken on our behalf.
- Manage supervision that all network assets are constructed in a timely and compliant safe manner.
- Manage supervision that all assets are constructed as designed and in accordance with approved methods, standards, and specifications. This includes work undertaken by the Client on the Groups behalf.
- Ensuring that all assets are recorded accurately and efficiently.
- Manage any direct labour or Contractors employed by M&A Doocey on your portfolio of activities / contract.
- Manage and ensure the efficient processing of any variations to works planned or being completed.
- Maintain a comprehensive and accurate site diary, to ensure works are completed as planned.
- Provide technical advice to the Client, Customers, Contractors, and employees.
- Manage productivity to ensure all works are delivered on time and to budget.
- Manage the quantities and storage of materials on the portfolio of projects to ensure waste is kept to a minimum.
- Ensure the accurate completion of incident investigation and reporting, including utility damages.
- Audit teams and Contractors deployed on your portfolio of activities in adherence to the Groups Audit Programme.
- Complete, review, and record all site audits and file, accordingly, ensuring audits are all completed to the required standard.
- Ensure the prompt and satisfactory resolution of any raised ‘Corrective Actions’.
- To carry out and record annual appraisals and competency interviews with direct reports.
- Ensure competencies of staff and contractors meet the relevant mandated Job Profile(s) of the Group and site-specific requirements.
- Provide accurate quality work within the department and wider Group.
- Assist your Line Manager in the development of greater efficiency within the Group.
- Working closely with the PMO team.
- Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Line Manager.
- Comply with the latest company procedures, legislation, and industry skills on all aspects of day-to-day work.
- Attend mandatory training courses as defined within the company training matrix.
- Keep up to date with legislation and record ‘Continued Professional Development’ (CPD).

Technical Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience within the same role, or similar, within the multi-utility/Energy sector.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, with a ‘can do’ attitude without compromising safety and/or compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including employees, management, regulatory agencies, and the community.
- Produce and manage a programme of works (MS Project).
- Problem-Solving Skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication Skills.
- Confident, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with managers at all levels within a business.
- Administration experience.

Qualifications & Training
- A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- GCSE’s Grade 9-4 or equivalent experience.
- NRSWA supervisory card.
- Valid SMSTS competency.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or ISOH.
- SCO Qualifications (SCO Core, permit to work, Form of authority, Routine Operations) – Preferred.
- SHEA Gas, Power and Water.
- National Water Hygiene.
