Our client is a specialist consultancy delivering transformation, compliance and operational improvement programmes for the UK water sector and wider utilities market. The organisation advises water companies on operational resilience, asset optimisation and regulatory delivery, combining technical insight with pragmatic project execution.
Job Description
The Project Manager will lead multi-disciplinary projects focused on wastewater operations and infrastructure upgrades. The role requires ownership of end-to-end delivery, from planning and stakeholder coordination to governance and benefits realisation. Success will be measured by timely project delivery, improved operational metrics and sustained client confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver wastewater projects and operational improvement programmes.
- Maintain project governance, risk registers and budget control.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, operators and contractors.
- Engage regulatory stakeholders and prepare compliance documentation.
- Facilitate workshops and capture requirements with client teams.
- Track benefits realisation and produce clear progress reporting.

Requirements
- Proven project management experience within wastewater or water operations.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and operational constraints.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules and multi-party delivery teams.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Relevant project management qualification preferred (PRINCE2, APM or PMP).
- Experience within consultancy or with major water utilities is advantageous.
- Ability to travel to client sites across the UK as required.
