Project Manager / Engagement Manager
Inside IR35 Umbrella Rate: £500.00 - £550.00 per day
Mandatory Requirements
- Active MOD SC clearance; 3 months remaining on SC clearance
- Sole UK National
- Location: Hybrid working 50% onsite in Barrow-in-Furness
Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Project Manager / Engagement Manager to oversee and coordinate multiple P&C site projects. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of coordination between internal delivery teams, portfolio leadership, and client stakeholders, ensuring projects remain on track and risks are managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects.
- Ensure delivery to agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
- Provide regular project status reports and updates to the Portfolio Lead.
- Create, issue, and monitor project forecasts.
- Identify, track, and escalate project risks and dependencies.
- Maintain effective communication with client stakeholders.
- Manage critical path activities and assess the impact of delays.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans to minimise project disruption.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, Engagement Manager, or similar delivery-focused role.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of critical path analysis, project dependencies, and impact assessment.
- Experience producing project reporting, forecasting, and governance documentation.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools.

Ideal Candidate A delivery-focused Project Manager with active SC clearance, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a strong track record of managing complex project portfolios in highly regulated environments, ideally within Defence or government-related programmes.
