Senior Project Manager – Edinburgh (Hybrid) – £50,253 salary equivalent £270.68 Inside IR35 day rate
One of Lorien’s key public sector clients is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Strategic Change team on a £270.68 day rate Inside IR35 contract.
Initial 3 month contract with potential extensions
Edinburgh based with hybrid working arrangements
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing complex projects through the full project lifecycle from initiation through to delivery and closure
- Developing and maintaining robust project plans, ensuring delivery remains aligned to scope, budget, quality and timescales
- Leading project governance activities, including reporting, risk management, issue management and change control
- Producing regular project status reports, management information and governance board updates
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders, project sponsors and delivery teams
- Facilitating workshops to support project initiation, planning, requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
- Managing project budgets, resource requirements and delivery dependencies
- Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to identify solutions and drive project outcomes
- Identifying, managing and mitigating project risks, issues and blockers to ensure successful delivery
- Supporting continuous improvement of project management standards, frameworks and ways of working

Key Skills & Experience:

- Proven experience delivering complex projects within large organisations
- Strong project governance, reporting, RAID management and change control experience
- Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle from initiation to implementation
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership and governance boards
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets, resources, project plans and delivery dependencies
- Strong workshop facilitation, planning and organisational skills
- Experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams within matrix environments
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience preparing business cases, option appraisals and project documentation
- PRINCE2, APM or equivalent Project Management qualification
- Previous experience within Higher Education, Public Sector or large-scale transformation programmes would be beneficial
