An established and highly respected Scottish main contractor is seeking an ambitious Project Manager to join their growing team in Glasgow. This opportunity would suit an experienced Senior Site Manager or Site Manager who is looking to make the move into project management and take on greater responsibility for programme delivery, client engagement, commercial awareness, and project leadership.

Your first assignment will be the delivery of a £14 million extension to a major secondary school on the South Side of Glasgow. The project is due to commence shortly and will provide an excellent platform to develop your project management career while working alongside an experienced senior leadership team.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to handover.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing site teams and subcontractors
  • Driving programme performance and project delivery
  • Maintaining excellent client and stakeholder relationships
  • Monitoring health and safety and ensuring compliance across site
  • Working closely with commercial and design teams
  • Managing quality standards, project reporting, and project controls
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience within a main contracting environment
  • Currently working as a Site Manager, Senior Site Manager, or Project Manager
  • Experience delivering new build or extension projects valued at £5m+
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification preferred
  • A genuine ambition to progress your career within a leading contractor
