Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the successful delivery of furniture projects from order placement through to practical completion. Working closely with the Sales, Project Lead and Administration teams, the Project Manager will coordinate suppliers, logistics, installation teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest standard. Daily duties will vary depending on the stages of multiple current projects.
Requirements
- Experienced project manager, ideally with a background in furniture, fit-out or interiors project delivery.
- Carry out site surveys and provide photographs and access information to support tender submissions.
- Identify delivery or installation constraints and communicate these to the sales team.
- Assist with project programmes and installation planning during the tender stage.
- Provide installation and logistics cost advice, including office moves, reconfigurations and specialist installations.
- Monitor new projects following order placement; ensure Order Acknowledgements are received and reviewed.
- Arrange and lead project handover meetings with the Project Lead.
- Review furniture layouts against supplier acknowledgements and identify discrepancies or risks.
- Establish project delivery programmes with clients, main contractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate delivery and installation programmes with suppliers, warehouse providers and installation contractors.
- Monitor supplier lead times and ensure deliveries align with project programmes.
- Arrange all site delivery bookings with clients, building management and main contractors.
- Ensure all project documentation, including RAMS and site compliance information, is completed and submitted.
- Attend site before and during installations as required; liaise with installation supervisors to ensure installations are completed safely and efficiently.
- Monitor project progress, proactively resolving issues to minimise programme delays.
- Manage project budgets relating to delivery and installation costs.
- Act as the primary operational contact for clients throughout project delivery; attend project meetings with clients and contractors.
- Prepare snagging lists with clients and installation teams and coordinate completion of all snagging items.
- Attend project completion meetings, obtain client sign-off and issue project completion reports.
- Ensure purchase orders for delivery and installation subcontractors are issued; review subcontractor invoices against budgets.
- Approve projects for invoicing following completion and client acceptance.
- Review warehouse storage invoices and obtain cost approvals where necessary.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and shipping companies regarding international deliveries.
- Support the delivery of reuse, refurbishment and circular economy projects and logistics planning.
