JOB TITLE: Project Manager

LOCATION: Dundee / North East Scotland

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

TEXO Recruitment are currently supporting a well-established construction business in the recruitment of an experienced Project Manager.

You’ll be responsible for the successful delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on or ahead of programme, within budget and to a high standard of quality and Health & Safety.

The role will involve managing project programmes, labour, subcontractors, costs and resources, while working closely with site teams, commercial teams, designers and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned construction projects
  • Develop and manage construction programmes and monitor progress against planned dates
  • Manage project budgets, costs, labour and resources
  • Lead and support Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, Foremen and site teams
  • Manage subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with design teams, consultants, utilities, local authorities and other stakeholders
  • Chair and attend design, progress, technical and subcontractor meetings
  • Monitor site progress, quality and Health & Safety
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, regulations and company procedures
  • Identify and resolve construction issues, delays and risks
  • Ensure labour, materials and plant are available when required
  • Work closely with the Commercial/QS team on project costs, reporting and profitability
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, quality and progress
  • Investigate accidents, delays and other project issues and ensure appropriate actions are taken
  • Maintain accurate project records and reporting
  • Manage project completion, defects, handover documentation and closeout

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Strong previous experience within the construction industry
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Senior Site Manager or similar
  • Proven experience managing construction projects from start through to completion
  • Strong understanding of construction programming and project delivery
  • Experience managing subcontractors, labour and resources
  • Experience working alongside commercial/QS teams
  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Managers Card
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 5 or above in Construction Management
  • Construction or Engineering degree/equivalent
  • First Aid at Work
  • Temporary Works Coordinator
  • Risk Assessment & Method Statement qualification

  • Has excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Has good commercial awareness
  • Can communicate effectively with clients, teams and senior management
  • Is confident making decisions and resolving issues
  • Has a strong focus on quality, Health & Safety and programme delivery
  • Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines
