Project Manager – Structural Steel & Stairs
📍 Wakefield
💼 Permanent | Full Time
💰 Competitive salary, depending on experience
A steel project doesn't finish when the drawings are approved or the last beam leaves the factory. It finishes when the right materials are on site, the installation is moving to programme, the client knows what's happening and the finished steelwork is exactly what was promised.
That's where you come in.
As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of allocated projects from contract management through to delivery, working across design, commercial, production and site teams to keep everything moving.
The Role
You'll be responsible for making sure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme.
- Coordinate Site Supervisors, Project Surveyors, Commercial, Drawing Office and Production teams, making sure everyone is working towards the same outcome.
- Manage programmes, contractual documentation, orders, bonds and warranties, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Regularly visit live sites across the UK, seeing the projects through from planning to installation and dealing with issues as they arise.

The work covers specialist structural steel, staircases and balustrade systems, from one-off applications through to complex multi-site installations.
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in Project Management within construction
- Experience managing projects, site teams, programmes and delivery
- Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills
- CSCS card and SMSTS or SSSTS
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under pressure
- Willingness to travel nationally and stay away from home up to four nights per week
