The Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Project Manager to join our Consulting Project Management Practice. With shared office space in Manchester, Sheffield and York, we welcome applications from Project Managers across these regions.
In this specific role, you will join our team delivering systems engineering services across Transport for London’s Infrastructure Improvement Framework (IIF) portfolio, supporting the development and assurance of a range of infrastructure programmes that improve reliability, capacity and passenger experience across the network.
The Role
Our Project Managers play an important part within our delivery teams and alongside our client. As a Project Manager, you will be a key part of the team, acting as a team leader and taking responsibility for supporting your Project Management team in coordinating the integration of multidisciplinary designs across a variety of rail design schemes while taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Able to monitor and control project costs, progress of the works and scope variances with the assistance of technical teams while satisfying the overarching criteria of quality, cost, and programme.
- Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions.
- Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within your portfolio.
- Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries, etc.
- Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work-winning function.
- Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.

What You Will Bring to Us
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in an appropriate subject such as Civil Engineering, Project Management, etc.
- Full membership of the Association for Project Management.
- Association for Project Management Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent.
- Previous experience managing projects for TfL (Transport for London) or within a TfL-regulated environment would be advantageous.
- Developed experience and expertise within the field of Project Management, probably gained in an Assistant Project Manager role or equivalent.
- Capable of acting as day-to-day main project management contact for a project where required under the terms of the commission.
- Demonstrates good commercial awareness.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of interface management.
