Overview
Our client is a national public-sector heritage organisation seeking a Project Officer to support the coordination and delivery of a major staff conference programme in 2027.
The conference will comprise three in-person events across three locations, with approximately 170 to 280 attendees at each event. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management support, including maintaining documentation, coordinating schedules and helping ensure activities are delivered effectively across the programme.
This role will suit someone with strong project coordination skills who can work independently, manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the coordination and delivery of three in-person staff conference events.
- Provide project management support across the full conference programme.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and schedules.
- Coordinate activities, deadlines and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Support the simultaneous delivery of several project and event-related activities.
- Work collaboratively across teams to secure input, cooperation and timely delivery.
- Apply appropriate project management techniques and approaches.
- Monitor progress and help ensure activities remain on schedule.
- Work independently, using initiative to resolve issues and maintain momentum.
- Identify and suggest practical improvements to project processes and delivery.

Requirements
- Demonstrable experience supporting the delivery of several projects simultaneously.
- Experience supporting events is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively across teams and encourage collaboration.
- Experience applying project management techniques and approaches.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong prioritisation skills.
- Ability to identify and suggest improvements to ways of working.
