Job Description: Project Officer

Location: Melton Mowbray – onsite role

Job Type: 18 month Fixed Term Contract

Launch Your Career in Engineering Project Delivery

Are you an organised, detail-oriented problem solver looking to build your career in engineering, manufacturing, or project management?

We're looking for a Project Officer to support the successful delivery of capital investment projects within our manufacturing environment. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain exposure to engineering projects while developing valuable project management, financial, and stakeholder management skills.

What will you do?

  • Drive project execution by maintaining project plans, coordinating timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring key actions are delivered on schedule.
  • Support engineering projects from start to finish, coordinating shutdown activities, compliance requirements, commissioning activities, and project documentation.
  • Manage project finances and administration, including purchase orders, supplier onboarding, invoice processing, budget tracking, forecasting, and CAPEX reporting.
  • Create clear project communications and reporting, providing updates, dashboards, presentations, and stakeholder communications that keep everyone aligned.
  • Collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
