- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $97,256 to $108,166 p.a. + super
The Conservation Planning and Assessment Branch is seeking a Project Officer that will undertake tasks relating to biodiversity regulatory and strategic areas. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for achieving biodiversity conservation outcomes through the NSW planning framework.
As a Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting biodiversity conservation and environmental outcomes across NSW. Working across a diverse range of regulatory, strategic and operational activities, you will assist in the delivery of programs related to biodiversity management, environmental planning and assessment, stakeholder engagement, licensing, and data management. You will contribute to the assessment and development of biodiversity certifications, biodiversity auditing, project plans, policies and procedures, maintain information systems, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong project coordination and organisational skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will have experience in planning, biodiversity assessment, GIS or related discipline. You will have skills in researching, analysing and presenting information through high-quality reports, briefing notes and correspondence, as well as the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures. Your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills will enable you to build productive relationships with internal and external partners, support program delivery, and contribute to positive environmental and conservation outcomes. Experience working with data management systems, project reporting and administrative processes, coupled with a proactive, collaborative approach, will position you to thrive in this diverse and rewarding role.
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of NSW biodiversity legislation.
- Ability to analyse environmental planning and assessment issues.
- Ability to accurately maintain data in factual knowledge and information systems.
