The Project Officer will lead the OUT and About in the Highlands project which covers both the Highlands and Moray local authority areas. The project aims to improve the mental wellbeing of the LGBTIQ+ community by utilising physical activity and sport. This is achieved through community engagement, providing opportunities for the community to take part in physical activity and working with a diverse range of partners in the sport sector to help support their practice to become more inclusive. This includes supporting the development of LGBTIQ+ lead sports clubs and groups in the area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and support the delivery of the OUT and About in the Highlands project.
- Manage sport and physical activity access programmes for the LGBTIQ+ community.
- Support and promote LGBTIQ+ people’s engagement with physical activity, sport and the outdoors.
- Work directly with LGBTIQ+ people in the Highlands ensuring that their experiences and views are directly embedded into the project and to the wider work of LEAP Sports.
- Work with local stakeholders to improve relevant services and opportunities for LGBTIQ+ people.
- Support LGBTIQ+ lead sports clubs and groups with their development.
- Develop and share relevant learning through local networks, digital platforms and national projects.
