About The Role

Inverness Fieldwork: Project Officer / Project Manager (Permanent and Fixed Term Contracts)

Salary – £31,649 to £46,271

About AOC

AOC is one of the leading, and fastest growing, heritage companies in the UK. With seven regional offices across the country, over the last five years we have seen our turnover and staff double in size. We are a CIfA Registered Organisation, with accreditations in ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO9001.

2026 continues to be an exciting year for our Inverness office, working across northern Scotland and the Islands. As our office grows, we are looking to recruit a Project Officer / Project Manager to help deliver our extensive portfolio. Successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of exciting projects from cradle to grave, including site set up, project delivery, reporting and publication. We are looking to appoint ambitious individuals who will help us with our future vision and growth.

Role

This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in Fieldwork, delivering AOC’s wide range of projects from small evaluations to large infrastructure projects. It is vital that you are a good team member with a positive and enthusiastic approach to heritage. You will also need to be self-motivating and able to work independently and under your own initiative. You will also be central to training and enthusing those you project and line manage. We encourage our team to grow and in this role you will be supported by a senior member of AOC who will assist in improving your skill set and further your career using our bespoke Job Aspiration Matrix.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
