Project Planner – Data Centre Infrastructure

Location: London, UK
Salary: £50,000-£65,000
Job Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Hybrid – London office with customer site travel
Sector: Data Centres / Structured Cabling / Network Infrastructure

TGS International Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Planner to join a rapidly growing technology and infrastructure organisation delivering structured cabling and network infrastructure solutions for major Data Centre and enterprise clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive planner to play a key role in supporting projects, managed services and networking initiatives across the UK and wider organisation.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Design and Site Planning teams to ensure projects are properly planned, resourced and delivered on time, within scope and in line with client expectations.

The Role

As Project Planner, you will:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes for data cabling infrastructure installations.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Clients and internal stakeholders to define scope, timelines and resource requirements.
  • Support project readiness and identify potential delivery risks.
  • Monitor project progress and implement mitigation strategies where required.
  • Coordinate procurement call-off schedules to ensure critical materials and hardware are available when required.
  • Support Site Managers in maintaining project critical paths.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and customer site visits.
  • Conduct site surveys and interpret technical drawings and floor plans.
  • Coordinate project resources and tasks to ensure delivery remains aligned with approved budgets.
  • Monitor project hours and costs to identify trends and support forecasting.
  • Evaluate scope changes, additional works, cost trends and programme adjustments.
  • Support planning around Extensions of Time (EOTs), compressed programmes and resource scheduling.
  • Participate in the development of project timetables and schedules.
  • Coordinate estimated design costs covering equipment, labour, installation, materials and associated works.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project activities remain compliant with relevant standards, Health & Safety requirements and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with all affected parties to ensure projects remain on schedule.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Project Planner, Planner or Project Coordinator.
  • Experience within infrastructure, structured cabling, Data Centres or network infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, Data Centres and network infrastructure.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 or a similar project planning tool.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of project scheduling, resource planning and critical path management.
  • Understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces within project planning.
  • Experience with planning techniques across tendering and contract delivery.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including cost trends, forecasting and scope changes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Clients and Site Teams.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
  • Ability to work from the London office on a hybrid basis.
