Circet UK are looking for a Project Planner to join our team.

The Project Planner will support the Programme Manager and Project Delivery teams across a diverse portfolio of rail, transport, and energy infrastructure projects. The role is responsible for planning, scheduling, forecasting, resource coordination, and monitoring project activities to ensure successful delivery from concept through to completion, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

This role will initially support projects within our Rail and Transport Infrastructure division, while also playing a key role in supporting the growth and delivery of future projects across our Energy Infrastructure business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
  • Translate project scope, design information, construction requirements, and client milestones into logic-linked delivery programmes.
  • Establish and maintain programme baselines, key milestones, dependencies, and critical-path activities.
  • Monitor actual progress against the approved programme and provide accurate daily and weekly updates to the Programme Manager.
  • Identify programme slippage, risks, constraints, and potential resource conflicts at the earliest opportunity.
  • Support the Programme Manager and Project Managers in developing appropriate mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Produce short-term look-ahead programmes to support operational delivery and resource planning.
  • Ensure programme changes, delays, revised dates, and completion forecasts are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain clear and accurate programme narratives, progress updates, and supporting information.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Ability to develop, update, and maintain logic-linked project programmes.
  • Understanding of critical path, float, dependencies, constraints, baselines, and programme change.
  • Experience monitoring progress and reporting against planned delivery dates.
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites or workstreams.
  • Ability to plan internal labour, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and site logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify programme risks and escalate issues before they affect delivery.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate reports and communicate programme information to operational and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate project data.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
  • A proactive approach to resolving issues and coordinating stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Previous planning experience within wireless telecommunications, mobile infrastructure, construction, utilities, or a similar environment.
  • Understanding of wireless site acquisition, design, construction, rigging, DICI, integration, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Experience coordinating internal and external rigging or construction resources.
  • Experience using Site Live, PACS, or similar project-management and client-reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of material planning, pick lists, kit call-offs, and site logistics.
  • Understanding of programme recovery and delay mitigation.
  • Awareness of commercial and contractual programme requirements.
  • Experience working directly with clients, principal contractors, subcontractors, and supply-chain partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant qualification in project planning, project management, engineering, construction, telecommunications, or a related discipline.
  • Primavera P6 training or certification is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a Project Planner, P6 Planner, Programme Planner, Project Coordinator, or similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience of coordinating multi-site project delivery.
  • Experience of working with operational teams and external supply-chain partners.
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualification, such as IOSH or equivalent, would be advantageous.
