Project Planner

Location: Chester, Cheshire, England
Salary: £65 - £70 per hour, Umbrella
Contract type: Contract
Employer: Urenco

Urenco Group's global project portfolio of small and medium projects accumulating up to €100 million annual capex. Select projects ranging from €50 million to in excess of €500 million. The role has multiple stakeholders, internal and external customers, as it is interfacing directly with the Urenco Group. Consequently, the ability, and availability to travel to and work in several locations is required. The Project Planner will be assigned to either one major or a number of smaller projects. The Project Planner will ensure that the project schedule fully reflects the scope of the project and in accordance with Urenco's policies and procedures.

  • Facilitate and run interactive planning sessions for the development of project schedules
  • Planning of project activities, including schedule development
  • Create initial project baseline schedules and provide planning expertise to project teams
  • Ensuring project schedules in Primavera and / or Microsoft Project that reflect all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractors
  • Development planning activities ensuring flawless integration of all project requirements, deliverables and resources required throughout the project lifecycle
  • Convert project requirements into logically scheduled activities

Specific Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Ability to convert project requirements into logically scheduled activities
  • Thorough knowledge of planning processes and good practice
  • Full understanding of Earned Value and scheduling techniques
  • Expert user of Primavera planning package and conversant with Microsoft Project
  • Probabilistic modelling knowledge
  • Experienced user of PRA, @Risk or equivalent
  • Conversant in business English
  • Conversant in business language specific to role location

Education and Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline
  • PMI Scheduling Professional (SP) qualification or equivalent
  • Professional membership PMI, AACE or equivalent
