Company Description

Today, Assystem is among the top three independent nuclear engineering firms worldwide. With over 60 years of experience in highly regulated sectors, the group supports public and industrial stakeholders in the execution of complex and strategic infrastructure projects, subject to high safety and security requirements. Assystem mobilizes 8,000 experts in 13 countries and intervenes across the entire project lifecycle, in engineering, project management and digital solutions.

Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join a major infrastructure programme at Hinkley Point C, one of the UK's largest and most complex construction projects. Working within the Project Management Office (PMO) and Area Management Team, you will play a key role in supporting the construction phase by developing, integrating, maintaining and optimising short-term construction schedules across a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEH) installation activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a planner with experience in large-scale engineering or construction projects who enjoys working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to drive safe, efficient and coordinated delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update detailed construction schedules covering installation, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Integrate activities from multiple Tier 1 contractors into a single coordinated construction programme.
  • Conduct schedule reviews and optimisation exercises to improve construction sequencing and delivery efficiency.
  • Support construction teams in identifying and resolving programme clashes, constraints and interface challenges.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment with wider project schedules and delivery milestones.
  • Support the 16-week look-ahead planning process to ensure work fronts remain unconstrained and deliverable.
  • Monitor programme progress and forecast performance against key milestones.
  • Produce planning reports, schedule metrics and performance dashboards for project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Construction Management teams to communicate resource requirements, activity durations and delivery priorities.
  • Utilise planning systems and digital tools to manage schedule data and enhance project controls.
  • Collaborate with 4D planning teams to develop visual construction sequencing and coordination models.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and capture lessons learned for future project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
