📍 Oxford (On-Site)
💷 £34.61 per hour PAYE / £46.30 per hour Umbrella
📅 12-Month Contract (Likely Extension)
🕒 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 08:30 – 17:00
🔒 DBS Required | IR35 Applies
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of complex engineering and development projects. This role is ideal for a planner with a strong background in engineering, manufacturing, or production environments who can develop, manage, and integrate detailed project schedules to support successful project delivery.
The Role
Working within a dynamic project environment, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining integrated project plans, monitoring progress, supporting project controls, and providing accurate reporting to stakeholders. You will work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

- Develop and maintain detailed, resource-loaded project plans.
- Monitor progress against schedules, identifying risks and supporting recovery planning where required.
- Produce timely and accurate project reporting and planning metrics.
- Support change control, risk management, and project governance processes.
- Facilitate planning activities, workshops, and project management events.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management procedures, methods, and tools.
Essential Experience
- Strong experience with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project planning methodologies.
- Expert user of Primavera P6 and planning tools supporting Agile delivery, such as Kanban.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle, including stage or gate reviews.
- Experience planning engineering projects involving design, manufacture, and installation activities.
- Experience managing design teams and developing resource-based project plans.
- Knowledge of Gantt chart development and Critical Path Analysis.
- Resource allocation and capacity planning expertise.
- Experience reporting against project performance metrics, including SPI and CPI.
- Understanding of risk management within project planning environments.

Desirable
- Experience within aviation, aerospace, or similarly regulated engineering sectors.
- Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ, or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
