Job Description: Project Planning & Scheduling Engineer
Company: Envisage Recruitment Ltd (Client Placement)
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire (Onsite / Standard Client Site Working)
Position Type: Contract (12 Months, Rolling)
Working Hours: 40 Hours/Week (Full-Time, Monday–Friday)
Rate: £28.24 per hour (Inside IR35)
Department: Engineering Delivery / Technical Product Development
Role Overview:
Envisage Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Planning & Scheduling Engineer to join an engineering delivery team in Gaydon.
Engineering Delivery is responsible for driving the precise execution of products across programme lifecycles. Integrated within the programme product structure, this role ensures robust programme execution using Technical Delivery Plans, Commodity Plans, and Obstacle Escalation to meet strict Cost, Quality, and Time (CQT) targets.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Programme Point of Contact: Act as the day-to-day engineering planning contact across Vehicle Groups to ensure seamless programme delivery.
- KPI & Health Monitoring: Proactively track and monitor engineering health against agreed KPIs to identify, manage, and resolve risks and bottlenecks early.
- Programme Integrity: Maintain the overall coherence, baseline alignment, and technical integrity of programme engineering content.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage regular communication, alignment, and reporting across multi-disciplinary engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Progress Reporting: Deliver structured engineering progress updates, milestone tracking, and obstacle escalations at defined intervals.
- Support wider departmental objectives and delivery tasks as directed by engineering management.

Required Skills & Experience:
Essential Criteria:
- Programme Planning & Control: Proven background utilizing techniques for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling complex engineering programmes.
- Programme Delivery: Track record of driving credibility, influencing project teams, and delivering against tight deadlines within a structured programme environment.
- Education: Degree qualified in an engineering, technical, or business discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Strong collaboration, risk management, and obstacle resolution capabilities.

Desirable Criteria:
- Formal Project Management qualification or practical experience (e.g., APM, Prince2, or Agile frameworks).
- Direct experience tracking Engineering Deliverables (DVP, commodity gateways, release milestones).
- Experience interfacing across diverse corporate functions and managing business transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated application of continuous process improvement and Agile thinking.
