Project, Programme & Portfolio Manager

Please note that this role is hybrid, this is based on our clients requirements. You will need to be available to travel to client site (South West of England) on a regular basis.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support and participate on project teams.
  • Work with clients to define their needs and understand their expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Develop detailed P3 plans and other key artefacts to meet those expectations.
  • Organise and manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Navigate approvals and manage project governance activities.
  • Monitor, control and report P3 performance to ensure that requirements are met.
  • Develop and foster high quality, trusting relationships.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practice, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with other consultants to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients.

Purpose Of The Role

As a consultant, your primary role will be to support the design and delivery of Defence projects through the provision of technical support. In doing so, you will assist in developing solutions to meet client needs across the Maritime, Air and Land domains within the UK Defence Sector. You will deliver and demonstrate a high-level of P3M competence and be able to achieve tangible, effective outcomes in support of customer needs. You will be extremely well organised, have excellent team-working and communication skills, and be analytical and pro-active. You will have excellent attention to detail, demonstrate a deep understanding of P3M processes and methodologies appropriate to the MODs ways of working and just love getting things done!

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable, relevant experience working within the UK Defence Sector, other Government Departments, or highly regulated industries.
  • Formal, disciplined delivery of P3 at scale and pace.
  • Worked effectively as part of team on complex projects.
  • Had to provide verbal and written communication & stakeholder management.
  • Managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Registered with APM or similar, or willingness to do so. E.G.
    • APM PMQ/MAPM etc…
    • Prince 2
    • Experience of using formal methodologies. E.G., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum

  • Chartered Project Professional (ChPP)
  • Bachelor’s or Graduate’s Degree in Project or Programme Management or other relevant discipline
