Project Quality Assurance / Quality Engineer
We are supporting a key client in the Nuclear/Defence sector who is looking to recruit a Project Quality Assurance / Quality Engineer to manage and deliver project quality planning, supplier assurance and verification activities across the project lifecycle.
The role is focused on ensuring compliance with contract, regulatory and client requirements — working closely with customers, project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers to confirm quality requirements/expectations and translate these into workable project quality arrangements.
- Support project quality planning, including preparation and maintenance of project quality documentation (e.g. Quality Plans, ITPs, hold points) and, where required, the drafting of project-specific procedures / local work instructions.
- Review supplier quality arrangements and manufacturing/inspection documentation (e.g. QCPs, weld schedules, NDT procedures) in line with project and client requirements.
- Attend supply chain kick-off meetings, contract review and handover meetings, ensuring quality requirements are understood and embedded.
- Plan, arrange and carry out verification activities such as vendor surveillance and inspection assignments (including liaison with customer inspection personnel where required).
- Complete risk assessments prior to inspection/verification activity taking place.
- Witness and verify key activities (e.g. functional testing), ensuring objective evidence is captured.
- Review and endorse quality records throughout the contract lifecycle (e.g. inspection reports, test packs, certification, supporting quality documentation).
- Produce timely reporting and support compilation/review of Lifetime Records / data dossiers through to final handover.
- Support effective management of risks, issues and non-conformances, driving timely corrective actions and closure.
- Ensure compliance with company QMS and HSE policies at all times.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
