Project Quality Engineer | Peterlee
Akkodis is recruiting for a Project Quality Engineer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing environment in Peterlee.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality professional to take ownership of quality and supplier-focused projects while working across engineering, procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing functions. You'll play a key role in supporting business-critical activities, driving supplier performance, and delivering quality improvements across a diverse project portfolio.
What you'll be doing
- Leading supplier quality and quality improvement projects from initiation through delivery
- Applying APQP and supporting PPAP activities throughout product and supplier development lifecycles
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product launch activities
- Driving supplier selection, supplier development, and quality planning initiatives
- Working closely with procurement, engineering, and supply chain teams to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives
- Conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions with suppliers
- Presenting quality metrics, project updates, and recommendations to key stakeholders

What we're looking for

- Strong Supplier Quality Engineering experience
- Practical APQP and PPAP experience
- Experience supporting NPI and product development activities
- Supplier development, supplier management, and procurement knowledge
- Proven experience leading quality-related projects
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, rail, FMCG, or pharmaceutical backgrounds considered

- Limited travel required (approximately 5-10%)
