Job Title: Project Quality Engineer
Location: Peterlee
Job type: Contract (12 Months)
PayScale: £ 35-37.6/ Hourly/ Via Umbrella
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, milestones, budgets, and resources, working closely with Design Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support technical requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Production, Quality Engineering, Logistics, and Procurement to ensure effective project delivery.
- Work with buyers and suppliers to obtain quotations, support contract negotiations, and contribute to supplier selection activities.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring supply risks, quality concerns, and project issues are identified and addressed effectively.
- Support APQP projects from concept through PPAP, ensuring components meet required quality, cost, and delivery targets through collaboration with Packaging, Transportation, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other relevant functions.
- Implement product supply strategies aligned with category management objectives to develop an integrated and high-performing supplier network.

Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent relevant experience is desirable.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to gather, analyse, and interpret data to support effective business decisions aligned with organisational objectives.
- Supplier Management – Manufacturing: Knowledge and practical experience in managing supplier relationships and transactions involving raw materials and manufactured components.
- Supply Chain Management: Understanding of supply chain principles, processes, and strategies, with the ability to support and implement effective supply chain practices.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Cost-Benefit Analysis: Understanding of cost-benefit analysis principles and the ability to evaluate projects, products, and processes based on cost, value, and business benefits.
- Interpersonal Relationships: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals and teams across different functions.

Top Candidates Will Have
- Proven experience in Project Management, including coordinating activities, managing timelines, and driving successful project delivery.
- Experience in Supplier Quality, working with suppliers to ensure quality standards and performance expectations are achieved.
- Knowledge of Procurement and Sourcing processes, including supplier engagement and supply chain collaboration.
- Familiarity with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
