PE Global is currently recruiting for a Project Quality Engineer
For a leading multi-national manufacturing client based in Peterlee.
Position Overview
This is an initial 12 months contract position.
Pay rate is £28.43ph PAYE or £38.42ph Umbrella.
36.5 hours per week working on site.
Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Friday: 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, milestones, budgets, and resources.
- Work with Design Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering to support technical requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Production, Quality Engineering, Logistics, and Category Procurement.
- Work with buyers and suppliers to obtain quotations, agree contracts, and support supplier selection.
- Manage multiple projects and ensure supply risks and concerns are addressed effectively.
- Support APQP projects from concept through PPAP, ensuring parts meet quality, total cost, and delivery targets through collaboration with Packaging, Transportation, Business Resources, Supply Chain, and other functions.
- Implement product supply strategies aligned with category management objectives to build an integrated, world-class supply network and strengthen customer competitiveness.

Education/Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience desired
- Proven experience in Project Management, with the ability to coordinate activities, manage timelines, and drive successful project delivery.
- Experience working with Supplier Quality processes and collaborating with suppliers to ensure quality standards and performance expectations are met.
- Knowledge of Procurement processes, including supplier engagement, sourcing, and supply chain collaboration.
- Familiarity with product and process quality methodologies such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
