Job Title: Project Quality Manager

Location: Kingston Upon Thames

Contract: 2 years Outside IR35 Contract

Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 days home

Purpose of the Position

The Project Quality Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures effective Quality Control (QC) activities are implemented and serves as the focal point for all project quality-related matters, both internally and with external stakeholders.

The Project Quality Manager reports to the QHSE Manager and the Project Director/Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans and procedures in accordance with the Company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure the identification, preparation, approval, and distribution of all required quality documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate quality audits to verify the effective implementation of the PQMS.
  • Conduct external audits of vendors' and subcontractors' Quality Management Systems.
  • Participate in Project Management meetings to ensure alignment between quality objectives and project activities.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements across the project organisation.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing relationships with clients and regulatory authorities on quality-related matters.
  • Monitor and supervise subcontractors and third-party organisations responsible for project execution.
  • Oversee the management, investigation, and resolution of non-conformities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement preventive actions to minimise potential non-conformities and root causes.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all project phases and site activities.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

Certification

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years' experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, or similar role within offshore construction or major construction project environments.
  • Proven experience managing quality systems, audits, subcontractors, and project quality assurance processes.

Technical Skills

  • Quality auditing and inspection.
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Subcontractor and vendor quality management.
  • Non-conformance management and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Material storage, handling, and preservation requirements.
  • Quality assurance and quality control methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
