Project Quality Manager | South East London | £60,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits | Permanent
We’re looking for an experienced Project Quality Manager to take ownership of quality across a portfolio of complex engineering projects, from manufacture and testing through to certification and customer acceptance.
This is a highly customer-facing role, working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, suppliers and customers to ensure contractual and quality requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
The Role:
- Manage quality across approximately 5–6 projects concurrently
- Own quality requirements from manufacture through testing, certification and customer acceptance
- Develop and maintain Project Quality Plans, control plans and test/acceptance documentation
- Manage FATs, customer witnessing, inspections and acceptance activities
- Act as the key quality interface with customers, including regular meetings, calls and factory visits
- Manage customer audits and drive the resolution of quality issues through to close-out
- Review tender requirements, identifying compliance, non-compliance and quality risks
- Support project risk management and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are implemented
- Coordinate investigations, corrective actions and customer reporting
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supplier Quality teams
- Support first-product/unit approval before repeat manufacture
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For:
- Project Quality experience within a complex engineering, manufacturing or technical environment
- Strong customer-facing experience, including managing quality discussions, audits, FATs and customer acceptance
- Proven experience managing quality documentation, testing, certification, risks and corrective actions throughout the project lifecycle
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, suppliers and customers without direct authority
- An engineering/technical background, with knowledge of quality standards; electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical or marine experience would be advantageous
