Job Details

  • Job title: Project Quantity Surveyor
  • Reporting to: Senior Project Manager
  • Based in: Wilton, Teesside

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join Sembcorp UK’s Projects Engineering team at one of the most exciting periods in the company’s growth.

Sembcorp is at the heart of the UK’s energy transition, supporting critical energy and industrial infrastructure whilst helping enable the industries that will shape the UK’s future growth. From low-carbon energy solutions and major industrial developments to emerging digital infrastructure opportunities at Wilton International, our Projects Engineering team sits at the centre of some of the most important projects in the business.

As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for implementing best practice contracts and cost control measures across the project portfolio. This is a broad, commercially focused role for someone who enjoys variety, wants to work closely with the business, and is keen to make a genuine contribution from day one.

You’ll work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Head of FP&A, and with project teams across the UK business, managing budgets, costs, and contractors while highlighting project health and any potential opportunities or issues so that action can be taken before a project is impacted.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
