Project Quantity Surveyor
Location: Cannock, Staffordshire (office-based with site visits as required)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 DOE
Experience: Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience
The Company
An established and growing construction contractor delivering a range of fit-out, refurbishment and new-build projects, primarily within the hospitality sector, alongside bespoke residential developments, including specialist accommodation for disabled and assisted living.
With a knowledgeable and experienced team, the business has built a strong reputation for quality and repeat business. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.
The Position
We are seeking a commercially astute Project Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience working within the construction industry for a main contractor or subcontractor.
Previous experience delivering hospitality fit-out or refurbishment projects is essential, particularly within pubs, restaurants, bars, hotels or similar environments. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, where priorities and project requirements can change quickly.

Reporting to the Senior/Managing Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the post-tender commercial management of a number of projects, ensuring effective financial control, accurate reporting and successful commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all post-tender commercial aspects of multiple construction projects.
- Prepare, negotiate and agree final accounts.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments and final account agreements.
- Take responsibility for the financial management and commercial control of each project.
- Prepare and review monthly cost/value reconciliations (CVRs).
- Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered commercially successfully.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular financial updates to senior management.

- A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Proven experience working for a main contractor or subcontractor.
- Essential experience in hospitality fit-out or refurbishment projects, such as pubs, restaurants, bars or hotels.
- Strong experience managing project costs, subcontractor accounts, final accounts and CVRs.
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and financial management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.

Location & Working Arrangements
This is an office-based position in Cannock, Staffordshire, with travel to project sites as required. Candidates must be able to commute reliably to the office.
