Project Quantity Surveyor
Location: Glasgow
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Scotland are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction business for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Glasgow.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a few years' post-graduation experience who is looking to develop their career further and take on greater responsibility within a busy commercial environment.
Working closely with the wider project and commercial teams, you will play an important role in the financial and commercial management of projects from procurement through to completion.
The Role
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial delivery of allocated projects, including:
- Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Preparing and reviewing valuations and applications for payment.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, payments, and variations.
- Assisting with procurement and tendering of subcontract packages.
- Monitoring project costs, budgets, and forecasts.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Preparing regular commercial reports and cost information.
- Managing variations and assisting with the agreement of final accounts.
- Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Maintaining accurate and effective commercial records throughout the project lifecycle.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/commercial discipline.
- A few years' experience working in a Quantity Surveying role following graduation.
- Experience within a main contractor, subcontractor, or similar construction environment.
- A good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Experience with subcontractor management, valuations, and variations.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent numerical skills.
- Good communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and ambition to progress their career.
