PQS / Cost Consultant – National Programme 📍 UK & ROI | Multi-site property portfolio 💷 £37,000–£63,000 + package, depending on experience
A strong move for a PQS or Cost Consultant who wants broader client-side responsibility, varied project exposure and ownership across the full cost management lifecycle.
Work across a major UK and ROI property portfolio, with genuine ownership from feasibility and cost planning through procurement, change, reporting and final account.
About the role
This is a client-facing cost management position for an experienced PQS, Cost Consultant, Cost Manager or client-side Quantity Surveyor.
You’ll manage allocated projects while contributing to wider programme reporting, working closely with client stakeholders, consultants and contractors across multiple concurrent schemes.
Sector background is flexible. The priority is strong consultancy-side or client-side cost management experience, disciplined reporting and the confidence to advise clients directly.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare cost plans, estimates, feasibility budgets and benchmarking.
- Produce cost reports, forecasts, cashflows and cost-to-complete updates.
- Manage procurement and tender processes, including analysis, levelling and recommendations.
- Assess variations and change, maintaining clear commercial controls and approval records.
- Manage valuations, payments and contractor commercial performance where required.
- Track risk, opportunity and programme-level commercial performance.
- Present clear cost and commercial advice to client stakeholders.
- Manage multiple live projects with strong ownership and reporting discipline.

Requirements
- Qualified Quantity Surveyor with 3+ years’ relevant experience.
- Background as a PQS, Cost Consultant, Cost Manager or client-side Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong experience across cost planning, procurement, tender analysis, change control, valuations and cost reporting.
- Confident dealing directly with clients and presenting commercial information.
- Strong Excel, forecasting and reporting capability.
- Able to manage multiple live priorities with limited supervision.
Desirable
- MRICS or progressing through APC.
- Multi-site, portfolio or programme-based project experience.
- New build, refurbishment, remodelling or live-environment exposure.
- Experience working within client governance and commercial control frameworks.
