Role
This role will have full responsibility for monitoring and working on internal fit-out & external facades building projects, ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget, to the highest standards as expected from Errigal. The role will involve overseeing all commercial aspects of one or more projects, collaborating with senior colleagues and their teams ensuring that each phase of the build is completed as planned and liaising with the client.
Principal Duties & Key Deliverables
- Validation of all tender and construction budgets to ensure strict compliance to agreed margins
- Preparation of project costs and valuations, issuing tender enquiries to sub-contractors and reporting on comparatives
- Meeting regularly with clients, third parties and senior management to report on progress
- Work closely with procurement division to manage procurement of materials & plant from inception to completion and approval of same
- Manage the preparation and submission of applications for interim payment certificates and agreements of same with client representatives & reporting internally to accounts dept
- Preparation & submittal of Final Accounts
- Assessment and agreement of sub-contractor and supplier variations
- Monitor and ensure correct procedures are followed on site in relation to any activity with commercial implications
- Prepare, submit contract variations, claims and final accounts
- Responsibility of maintaining site records, control documents for commercial purposes
- Responsibility of measuring progress on site
- Responsibility of monthly CVR reporting internally to Commercial Director with visibility of projected final account & final costs
- Responsibility of generating & updating cashflow forecasts both internal & external
- Ability to manage and mentor junior members of the commercial team
- Adoption of Internal processes and collaboration with other departments within the Company
- Good knowledge and Interpretation of Contract Law and review of JCT/NEC contracts
- Regularly review timings, budget, labour, risk and project plans to ensure works stay on track
- Reporting to Clients and Senior Directors on project progress
- Ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled
- Dealing with contract disputes and mitigating the impact of any issues if they arise

Eligibility Criteria

Ideal candidate will have proven experience in QS/Commercial lead role
- A degree or recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics or similar
- Excellent level of awareness and competence in assessing contract documents and contract requirements.
- Proven ability to organize time and workload
- Knowledge in Facades and Dry Lining (Desirable)
- Flexibility around travel between Head Office and UK based sites
