We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Risk Manager to join our Project Controls team and play an important role in supporting our clients across a range of major construction projects.

As a Risk Manager, you will work closely with our Project Controls, Project Management and Commercial teams to support the effective identification, assessment and management of project risks. You will help ensure that risks are understood, appropriately mitigated and effectively communicated to project stakeholders.

You’ll

  • Support the Project Management and Commercial Teams in the effective identification, assessment and management of project risks.
  • Facilitate and support risk workshops, ensuring key risks, opportunities and exposures are identified and appropriately captured.
  • Maintain project risk registers, ensuring risks are clearly defined in terms of causes, events, impacts and appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Work with project teams to assess the likelihood and impact of identified risks and support the development of effective and proportionate responses.
  • Monitor risk mitigation actions and work with stakeholders to ensure agreed actions are progressed and closed out.
  • Support the production of monthly project reports, providing accurate risk information, analysis and insight.
  • Assist with qualitative and quantitative risk analysis to help project teams understand potential cost and schedule exposure.
  • Identify trends, emerging risks and areas of concern, escalating these to senior members of the team where appropriate.
  • Build strong working relationships with project and client stakeholders, helping to promote a positive and proactive risk culture.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CMR's risk management processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Support Senior Risk Managers and Project Controls Leads in delivering high-quality risk management services to our clients.

We’re looking for

Essential

  • Relevant experience within a project management, project controls or risk management environment.
  • Experience working on major construction or infrastructure projects.
  • A good understanding of risk management methodologies, mitigation processes and techniques.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining project risk registers.
  • Experience facilitating or supporting risk workshops with project stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret project information and identify potential areas of risk.
  • A technically minded individual who can understand technical concepts and communicate them clearly to a wider audience.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and ask the right questions.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve project performance and risk management.

Desirable

  • Recognised project management or risk qualification such as Association for Project Management (APM) or Institute of Risk Management (IRM).
  • Experience of quantitative risk analysis and/or cost and schedule risk analysis.
  • Experience using risk management or quantitative risk analysis tools such as @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, ARM or Safran.
  • Experience working within a project controls environment.

  • Full right to work in the UK.
