About the Function

Diageo Global Engineering delivers capital projects and engineering solutions that support our manufacturing sites, ensuring safe, compliant and sustainable operations while enabling growth and continuous improvement across our global business.

About the Team

The role sits within the Diageo Global Engineering (GBS Market) Engineering team and provides Environmental Health & Safety support to capital projects within the Diageo manufacturing facility at Shieldhall, Glasgow.

About the Role

As EHS Advisor, you will act as the key link between the Lead Project Manager, Project Engineers, contractors and site teams, supporting all aspects of Environmental Health & Safety across project delivery. Success in this role means ensuring strong contractor engagement, effective risk management and compliance while helping deliver projects safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinate EHS performance reporting, incident management, escalation and action tracking.
  • Develop and deliver EHS communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Support CDM implementation and management, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support site initiatives and projects that improve safety performance.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the EHS team, including maintaining records and supporting daily operations.
  • Support project implementation through legislative compliance, risk identification and application of ALARP principles.
  • Assist in selecting and implementing improved safety measures for engineering changes.
  • Support visible safety leadership through site inspections, audits and GEMBA walks.
  • Facilitate safety workshops with contractors and project teams.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Track corrective actions through to completion and provide regular reporting.

This role offers the opportunity to work on significant capital projects, influence safety performance across multiple stakeholders and further develop your expertise within a global engineering environment.

We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience within Health & Safety Management and project delivery.
  • Knowledge and practical application of CDM legislation.
  • Understanding of COMAH requirements and ALARP principles.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits and safety inspections.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, including SharePoint and reporting tools.
  • Experience producing technical reports, dashboards and written communications.

Preferred

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience supporting governance, reporting and data management within a large or asset-intensive organisation.
  • Confidence analysing data and producing clear, accurate reports and dashboards.
