Meet your future team

As a Project Support Advisor within our Internal Project Sales Team, you will play an important role in supporting the growth of the VELUX Residential Business.

You will identify, develop and progress project opportunities, working closely with our Field Sales Team to maximise sales opportunities and ensure projects are effectively managed throughout the project journey.

This is a collaborative role where customers, relationships and commercial results are at the heart of what we do.

You will manage a portfolio of project opportunities, build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, and ensure each opportunity is proactively nurtured to achieve the best possible commercial outcome.

Combining commercial awareness, excellent relationship management and strong organisational skills, you will deliver an outstanding customer experience while contributing to the continued success and growth of our Residential Business through Projects.

You will be based in Glenrothes and some travel may occur.

What you will do

No two days will be the same. You will manage a portfolio of project opportunities, ensuring each is actively progressed from the initial opportunity through the various stages of the project journey.

Working closely with the Field Sales Team, customers and other stakeholders, you will identify opportunities, develop relationships and maximise their commercial potential. Strong communication and relationship management skills will be essential as you engage with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders, including architects, contractors, housebuilders and builders’ merchants.

You will take ownership of your project pipeline, using data and insight to prioritise activity and ensure that the right opportunities receive the right level of focus at the right time.

Attention to detail will be equally important. You will maintain accurate customer and project information within our CRM and database systems, ensuring that information is current, reliable and supports effective decision-making.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and progress project opportunities throughout the project journey.
  • Proactively manage a designated project portfolio and pipeline.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the Field Sales Team to maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service and proactive follow-up.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and achieve the best commercial outcome.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, project and pipeline information.
  • Use CRM, data and insight to support effective prioritisation and decision-making.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an individual who combines commercial awareness, customer focus and a strong ability to build relationships.

Previous experience in sales, either internally or field-based, is desirable, ideally within the housing or construction sector. A demonstrable track record in customer service, both face to face and by telephone, together with experience of problem solving and relationship management, will be highly valued.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong tele-sales capability and experience of managing a project pipeline. An understanding of architectural drawings and plans would also be advantageous.

The role requires a confident and systems-minded approach. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating multiple software programmes, learning new systems quickly and maintaining accurate customer data.

Experience with CRM systems is essential, together with a commitment to maintaining high standards of data quality and compliance.

Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Forms, Teams and OneNote, alongside CRM systems, is expected.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate:

  • A proactive and action-oriented approach, with the initiative to identify opportunities and take them forward.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different customer groups and stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm, persistence and determination, with the resilience to see opportunities through to completion.
  • Above all, the successful candidate will be a committed team player who takes ownership, delivers on commitments and is passionate about providing an excellent customer experience.
