Project Sales Manager – North West (Valves)

A leading global engineering group within the industrial valves and flow-control sector is expanding its UK commercial team. They’re seeking a Project Sales Manager to drive strategic project wins, develop key accounts, and lead technical-commercial engagement across the North West region.
This role is central to securing major valve projects — combining technical understanding, commercial discipline, and strong customer influence across energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and heavy industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow project-based sales opportunities across EPCs, OEMs, end users, and major industrial customers
- Lead the full bid and proposal cycle for engineered valve and flow-control solutions
- Interpret specifications, P&IDs, datasheets, and customer requirements to ensure correct valve selection
- Assess risk, challenge assumptions, and ensure all opportunities are commercially viable and contractually sound
- Build strong relationships with engineering, procurement, project managers, and technical stakeholders
- Deliver technical presentations, site visits, and solution-focused discussions
- Collaborate with internal engineering, applications, and operations teams to ensure accurate scope and smooth project delivery
- Maintain territory plans, forecasts, CRM accuracy, and disciplined pipeline management
- Represent the business professionally at industry events and customer meetings

What You’ll Bring
- Strong background in valves, flow control, rotating equipment, or engineered mechanical products
- Experience in project sales, technical sales, or commercial management within industrial markets
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and project documentation
- Commercial acumen — confident assessing margin, risk, and delivery capability
- Strong communication skills with engineers, project managers, procurement teams, and senior stakeholders
- Engineering qualification (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent industry experience
- Self-driven, organised, and comfortable managing a regional territory
