About the Global Impact Coalition
The Global Impact Coalition was founded by some of the world’s leading chemical companies, with the goal of being an incubation platform for pre-competitive projects to accelerate the chemical industry’s transition to a low-carbon and circular economy. Incubated at the World Economic Forum and now an independent organization, GIC brings together major petrochemical and adjacent companies to de-risk projects that no single company can advance alone. Our work is organised around three strategic pillars: Feedstock Replacement & Circularity, Process Emissions and Safety.
You would join a growing team where you contribute to GIC’s project portfolio whilst working directly with leadership teams of some of the largest chemical companies in the world.
About the role
The Project Specialist will manage and assist with a portfolio of GIC projects, from shaping new ideas through to execution and spin-out. A significant part of the role involves working directly with technical and commercial teams from member companies, bringing multiple stakeholders into the room, aligning priorities, and moving projects from concept to real outcomes. Between sessions, you will drive project development, engage key external partners, and ensure each initiative is positioned to deliver tangible value.
This role requires a strong understanding of the chemical industry, both technically and commercially, and the ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders across multiple organizations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
