The Role
The Project Start Up & Intervention Leader will lead and drive the adherence to SP&S PMO minimum standards by providing project management leadership and expertise, project delivery assurance and discipline guidance across SP&S projects to enable the consistent delivery of project execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
As the Project Start Up & Intervention Leader you will support the design and implementation of PMO minimum standards across the global SP&S project portfolio. You will be responsible for:
- Defining the start-up schedule and resource plan to deliver the start-up activities working with designated project teams
- Leading the start-up team with a focus on compliance to critical deliverables as per the SP&S Project Start Up Standard; and the identification and confirmation of project risks from the bid phase into execution
- Leading the execution project director, the project team and relevant functional support groups and stakeholders to ensure the project is set up for success and lead the readiness assessment
- As an output of Project Governance Reviews lead independent interventions to establish causes, mitigations and/or corrections – and create and own the Corrective Plan
- Support defining and developing PMO best practices, processes, and minimum standards to ensure alignment with SP&S PMO strategy; and delivery to SP&S standards

Key Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Project management and project control experience within the oil and gas industry, strong range of project delivery and execution roles
- Experience and understanding of project execution tools, processes and procedures
- Experience in the project supply chain with expertise in managing suppliers and customers and understanding the internal and external needs and demands of fulfilling execution projects
- Knowledge in understanding and delivering contract and project start up requirements and critical activities
- Engaging communicator, able to influence, inspire and change behaviour
- Strategic mindset, able to think long-term and transfer into short-range plans
- Problem solver, able to identify issues and apply professional judgement to select solutions
- Have permanent work permit in UK
