North Star Foundation supports people with disabilities to live as fully included citizens, make their own choices, and enjoy independence, rights, and responsibilities. Funded by Local Authorities and NHS Commissioning Groups, the organization works with people with learning disabilities, autism, and neurodiversity needs to help them build good lives and develop independent living skills.
North Star specializes in highly personalized support, helping individuals find a home of their own, matching them with compatible housemates, and building on each person’s strengths and needs. The foundation focuses on creating strong support networks involving family, friends, and the wider community. Since 2005, North Star’s dedicated staff have been actively engaged on the front line, opening up opportunities for inclusion and making everyday life and independence achievable for the people they support.
Role Description
The Project Supervisor – Supported Living is a full-time, on-site role based in Worcestershire. This role oversees supported living services for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and neurodiversity needs, ensuring high-quality, person-centered support.

- Supervising support staff
- Coordinating individual support plans
- Monitoring service delivery to align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
The Project Supervisor will liaise with families, commissioners, and other professionals, manage schedules and resources, and respond to emerging needs or issues in supported living settings. The role also involves coaching team members, promoting best practices in independence and inclusion, and contributing to continuous improvement of services and outcomes for people supported.
Qualifications
- Experience in social care, supported living, or disability services, with a strong understanding of person-centered planning and independent living principles.
- Skills in staff supervision, team leadership, and performance management, including providing guidance, feedback, and support to frontline workers.
- Ability to build effective relationships with individuals, families, and external partners, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Competence in organizing schedules, coordinating resources, and maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and health and safety practices in community and residential support settings.
- Capability to problem-solve, make sound decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing needs in supported living environments.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, with a values-based approach that respects each person’s rights, choices, and aspirations.
- Relevant qualification in social care, health and social care, or a related field (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 3 or above), or equivalent experience; prior experience in learning disability or autism services
