Project Support Assistant

Location: Cardiff (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office)
Salary: £28k - £30k

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a growing technology business based in Cardiff in the search for a Project Support Assistant to join their expanding Implementation Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of software implementation projects for a range of public and private sector clients.

Working closely with Project Managers and Implementation Specialists, you will help ensure projects are delivered smoothly by maintaining accurate documentation, tracking progress, supporting reporting, and helping teams follow consistent project management processes.

As the business continues to grow, this newly created role will provide essential support across the project portfolio, allowing senior project team members to focus on larger and more complex implementations.

The role offers hybrid working, with the expectation of attending the Cardiff office approximately once a week or as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of software implementation and configuration projects by ensuring key tasks, documentation, and milestones are completed on time.
  • Maintain project tracking tools, ensuring project statuses, actions, and deadlines are kept accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare regular internal and client-facing project status reports.
  • Work closely with Implementation Specialists to gather updates and monitor project progress.
  • Support the maintenance of key project documentation, including project plans, action logs, and project initiation documents.
  • Identify and escalate project risks, delays, or issues to the Project Manager.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Client Success, Sales, and Finance to support smooth project delivery.
  • Assist with improving project management processes, templates, and ways of working across the team.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a project support, project coordination, administration, or similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to work with internal stakeholders and follow up on actions and deadlines.
  • Experience using reporting tools, project management software, or Excel/Google Sheets.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify issues and support solutions.

Experience within a software, technology, or professional services environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Knowledge of Salesforce applications or public sector procurement would be beneficial but not required.
