Project Support Officer – Band 5
East Midlands Cancer Alliance (EMCA)
Location: County Hall, Leicester (with travel across the East Midlands)
Responsible to: Senior Programme Manager
Accountable to: Managing Director

The East Midlands Cancer Alliance is looking for a Project Support Officer to join our Programme Management Office (PMO). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting programmes that improve cancer diagnosis, treatment and patient outcomes for over five million people across the East Midlands. The role supports programme delivery, governance and stakeholder engagement across a complex portfolio of cancer improvement programmes.

As a Project Support Officer, you will work alongside Project Officers, Senior Programme Managers and clinical teams to ensure programmes are well organised, effectively coordinated and delivered to a high standard.

You'll Support a Wide Range Of Projects By
- Coordinating programme activities, milestones and deadlines
- Organising meetings, workshops and governance forums
- Preparing agendas, reports, presentations and project documentation
- Taking high-quality minutes and monitoring actions
- Maintaining project plans, risk logs and programme trackers
- Supporting Expert Clinical Advisory Groups (ECAGs)
- Managing programme information, databases and reporting
- Working with colleagues across NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Boards and regional partners to support service improvement.
This is a varied role where you'll become an integral part of a high-performing team delivering real improvements in cancer services across the region.
