The Project Support Officer role is responsible for supporting and overseeing the delivery of infrastructure and capital projects within a complex operational environment.

The postholder will support project administration through the use of robust governance frameworks, management tools and processes, while also providing administrative support to the wider team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the alignment of strategic objectives with infrastructure plans and wider delivery programmes.
  • Provide administrative support for the development and ongoing management of project outputs, ensuring compliance with appropriate governance frameworks and organisational priorities.
  • Support the achievement of programme objectives, including acting as secretary for governance meetings.
  • Arrange meetings, prepare agendas and presentation materials, produce and distribute minutes, monitor actions, and maintain logs and trackers.
  • Support management with project requirements, including the development and maintenance of risk and issue registers, working with stakeholders to facilitate resolution.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained, appropriately controlled, stored and communicated.

Essential Skills and Experience

You will have strong administrative and governance experience, supported by proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications. The role requires excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a range of internal and external contacts. You will be an organised and proactive individual with strong written, verbal and presentation skills, capable of managing multiple priorities, working independently, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism in a demanding environment.

Location

The role is Hybrid where 3 days per week will be spent onsite at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.
