Project Support Officer
Location: Congleton, Cheshire Travel: Some travel to Essex will be required
We are seeking an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer to provide project coordination, technical administration, and stakeholder support across a programme of highways and infrastructure schemes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple projects, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring accurate project information is maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The position is based in Congleton, with occasional travel to Essex as required.
Job Description
The Project Support Officer will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors to help deliver a range of highway improvement and infrastructure projects. You will support programme reporting, stakeholder coordination, project administration, and site-related activities, helping to ensure successful project delivery from planning through to completion.

Responsibilities
- Provide project administration and coordination support across multiple schemes.
- Assist project teams with planning, reporting, and programme management activities.
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, and performance information.
- Prepare progress reports and management updates.
- Support communication with contractors, utility providers, and local stakeholders.
- Assist with site inspections and the monitoring of construction activities.
- Coordinate permits, traffic management requirements, and project approvals.
- Monitor project records to support audits, compliance requirements, and funding claims.
- Support the management of project costs and expenditure tracking.
- Promote best practice in health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Essential Qualifications / Skills
- Experience supporting projects within construction, highways, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Strong project coordination and administrative capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and digital management systems.
- Ability to interpret technical information and project documentation.
- Knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
