We have an exciting opportunity
We are looking for a Project Support Officer to join Sheffield City Council in the Housing & Neighbourhood Service. This service manages our 39,000 council homes and an ever-growing private rented sector market. There is one permanent full-time vacancy available.
We are looking for:
- Someone who will support and assist the Service to ensure innovative, high quality, continually improving, and customer-focused service delivery across all its functions.
- Someone who can develop policies, strategies, and organisational outcomes for the Council Housing Service, and for the wider Council as appropriate.
- People who can develop alliances and engage with key stakeholders to achieve outcomes for the residents of Sheffield and who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Listeners who continually seek feedback from residents and partners to improve performance and services that meet expectation.
- Effective communicators.
Role Details
The position will be based in the Fire Safety Team. The postholder will predominantly be responsible for supporting the service through providing essential project support to ensure the successful delivery of projects relating to Fire Safety within the Sheffield Council Housing Stock.

The role will support the Fire Safety Teams; Service Manager, Operations and Development Manager, and Project Managers to deliver both individual and portfolios of projects across Capital Delivery.
Experience and Knowledge
Experience and knowledge about Fire Safety relating to Housing is not essential, but previous experience in project management or a good understanding of project management would be beneficial.
Hours and Location
The role is full time (37 hours). The post is based at Solpro Business Park, Attercliffe, Sheffield. But there will also be an opportunity to work remotely at home.

Terms and Conditions
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part-time, or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
