Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No formal project management experience? No problem.

We're more interested in your potential, enthusiasm, skills and willingness to learn than previous experience in a project role. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, working with people and making things happen, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside experienced transformation professionals, you'll support a variety of projects and improvement initiatives across Resident Services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning and coordination of project activities

  • Assisting with the preparation of project plans, reports and presentations
  • Working with colleagues across different teams and services to support delivery
  • Contributing ideas and finding practical solutions to challenges
  • Learning valuable project, change and improvement skills along the way

No two days will be the same, making this a fantastic opportunity to gain broad experience across a range of transformational projects.

Who are we looking for?

We're seeking someone who is motivated, positive and keen to develop their career.

You might be an existing council employee looking for your next challenge, an administrator wanting to broaden your experience, or someone with transferable skills who is interested in change and service improvement.

You'll bring:

  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence building relationships with colleagues across different services
  • An ability to research, analyse information and draw conclusions
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Curiosity, enthusiasm and a desire to learn new skills

Most importantly, you'll be excited by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful improvements that positively impact residents and communities.

Take your first step into transformation and help make a difference through the Cov Connects Programme.

We would welcome applicants from all groups in our city, especially from people from the global majority as this is underrepresented in our team. The closing date is midnight on the Sunday 27th September 2026, we’ll shortlist from there and if you are successful, we’ll invite you to meet with us for an assessment week commencing Monday 12th October 2026 and will consist of a competency based interview and a presentation.
