This post is Fixed term/Secondment until 31st March 2029 to meet the needs of the service.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 Project Support Officer to support the delivery of a variety of Projects within the portfolio of the Informatics Programme across BCU. The Project Support Officer will assist other project staff in ensuring the programmes required outcomes are successfully achieved by providing high level project and administrative support to more senior members of the project team.

Working as part of the project team they will be the first point of contact for many staff and will be required to provide support, training and guidance to other project staff, contributing to the development of policies and procedures for their own work area.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder would be expected to have a good level of knowledge and understanding of project processes and methodology to ensure effective management of the project documentation library.

The post holder would also have responsibility for work flow within a more complex Work Package to support the delivery of the project.

The post holder will be required to act as ‘configuration librarian’ by developing and maintaining the project library, databases and associated resource lists. They will also be required to assist in project planning and monitor plans to ensure the project remains on target, highlighting and escalating any issues and risks proactively.

The post holder will also ensure that standard project management methodologies are applied to progress and successfully deliver projects.

The post holder is expected to have a good level of interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders including senior members of the operational and project teams. PRINCE2 Foundation is desirable for this post.
